Personal Development Learn 5 Ways To Use Your Time

“The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.”  Jack London

It  is easy to get carried away when there seems to be more than enough time on your hands. More recently, there are so many platforms both on and off the internet that are engaging and are sufficient to use up your time. Anyway, it is not the fault of those creating the content because it is their job to ensure that you have your eyes glued to their posts. Unfortunately, this way, time passes by slowly. Therefore, the idea of ”having a lot of time” can be misleading.

Here are five ways you can maximize your time:

1. Start An Internship

An internship is a great way to build your expertise, gather experience, earn a little extra money and build a network. As an intern, you are climbing up a ladder of professionalism. Most employers tend to find applicants with an internship experience more credible and intentional about their career path.

2. Acquire A New Skill / Craft

Just in case you are bothered that the corporate world is not for you, you can set your entrepreneural self in motion by acquiring a new skill. There is art in almost any field today ,thus, you can use this to your advantage by creating your own designs. As a person working nine to five, you could also learn something new that would enhance you as a person and in your job. Communication skills, for example, are indespensable in a work environment.

3. Take A Course

It is known that there is always something to learn everyday. If you require some knowledge in a certain field, you could take a course on that subject – physically or virtually. This way, you can get a good understanding about that eubjsub and a certification as well. There are available sites such as Udemy amongst others where you can pay an affordable amount to get this done.

4. Start A Business From Home

The best way to start something is just starting. This can get you some money and can teach you the basics of owning a business (if you intend to have a grand business). Some businesses you can start could be related to: Retailing, Affiliate Marketing, Freelancing and so on.

5. Volunteer

Volunteering for a cause ia an amazing thing to do when you have the time. The greatest benefits among other things that this guarantees is a sense of satisfaction that you have contributed to the society in some way. You can volunteer for an event or projects organised by NGOs.

You only live once and the time you have is too short to be wasted. Learning to maximize your time effectively through any of the five means above and more, you can further develop yourself. You can be like Jack London who has resolved to use his time properly.
