The doctorate degree in pharmacy (PharmD) program will soon be kicked off with full force in the University of Ilorin says the dean of the faculty in UNILORIN.
Prof. AbdulKarim Agunu, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the university, disclosed this at the induction of new students on Tuesday in Ilorin.
Agunu said that the doctorate programme had been approved by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria (PCN).
“The Senate of the university has also approved the instant take-off of the programme, making it the second institution in Nigeria to offer the programme,” he said.
The dean added that the faculty would not relent in its effort to produce the best pharmacists in the country and the world at large.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the University of Benin is the only institution offering doctorate degree in pharmacy since 2001.
